#MotivationMonday + Breakfast Smoothie

Hello, my lovelies! ILY aka Frosty Kitten here ^_^

Today is Monday! Ugh. Right? It’s okay—it doesn’t HAVE to be bad and here’s a couple ways to get your week started off right!

What a great quote, right? How many times have you found yourself looking for reasons why you can’t do something? I know I used to do that a lot! I still do it now, but only sometimes. Key word “sometimes.”

It’s hard to always be upbeat and kicking, I know. Sometimes you don’t even feel like getting out of bed, let alone go out in the world and do things like going to work or hitting up the gym for that sweet muscle burn.

The key to success isn’t being perfect all the time—it’s always doing the best you can in the circumstances that you’re in at the time! Cause you know what? Maybe today isn’t the day where everything goes right; maybe it’s quite the opposite of that. That’s OK. There’s always tomorrow! Just remember that when life happens to you in ways that seem out of your hand, you still have control over how you react to your situation.

So let’s make today awesome! I know you can do it! (whatever your “it” is for today)

The key to a great day is a great morning. And the key to a great morning is a good breakfast!

PEACH OAT SMOOTHIE (2 servings)

Here’s a twist on a great Marta Stewart breakfast smoothie. I really love putting oats and yogurt in my smoothies because it helps keep me full, and I love “textured” thick smoothies.

What you need:

1 small sliced banana (frozen or not)

1 sliced peach (2 if really small hehe)

¼ cup of raw almonds (I like mine roasted and lightly salted)

½ steel cut oats

1 cup fat free Greek yogurt (I love using the Chobani brand)

1-2 tbsp of maple syrup or honey (you can skip this if you want)

¼ milk of your choice

How you make it:

Okay guys—brace yourselves!! This part is really hard. You throw everything in your blender and then press the start button and less than a minute later… you’re done! Oh and let me know if you do make this smoothie cause I’d love to hear what you thought of it!

I hope this post helped make the start of your week a bit less blah! I know I had a little bit of trouble starting my day also, but my morning run and yummy smoothie really helped kickstart everything the right way.

 ‘Til next time… Stay frosty!

Love,

ILY the Frosty Kitten

The Magic Bullet is being pushed a lot over here in the UK, it seems to be promoted everywhere and yet it's not that commonly known. Do you own one @FrostyKitten?

This is another great blog, really interesting read.

I love fresh smoothies, something I started doing awhile back myself but it's fallen out of the diet a bit. @cheeky~k8 likes to have one every now or then when we have meals or are out shopping (those juice stands) - so it's something I should start re-doing. Thanks for sharing this. I also noticed your running video on Instagram, I nearly fainted by watching! Haha... No seriously, I need to get back into keeping fit.

Haha @joey_matthews  I used to feel that way when I watched other people run or workout too :D

Yes, I do own a Magic Bullet! All the pics on the blog are taken by me ^_^

I really like it!! The thing I love about it most is that you can just drink the smoothie right out of the little blending cup thingy instead of dirtying another cup like you would with a regular blender :) Oh and also because it takes less than a minute to blend the smoothies. I remember when using my old fashioned blender it would be sliiiiiightly frustrating to use haha

Thanks for reading ^_^

Omg ! That looks awesome! I am a big fan of peaches and bananas either eat them aa they are or have them together in a yummy mix. As i don't have a magic bullet i usually eat them mixed together with vanilla ice cream usually or banana angel delight which is a very yummy milk based cream. A very nice mix of flavours !!😉

But yeah! You did make my monday better! Thank you for sharing, i will try and have some of my mix at some point today !

Keep up the good work !

Love, teh mommeh💖

I hate the middle of the week myself, your stuck in limbo as to what to do. Mondays for me are exciting, as I think about what the week holds for me and by time Wednesday arrives, I want Friday to arrive.

I like your style of blogging, its interesting and formative.

I feel the same way sometimes too! Beginning of the week is all exciting and new and then, like you said, it's like okkkkkk where's Friday?? haha

Thanks for reading ^_^

That one looks very interesting... i might try it without the nuts. I don't tend to do smoothies myself because my hand blender broke and the one we currently have is a normal blender.. i hate all the messy pots after.

Do you come up with all these smoothie ideas?

@cheeky~k8 aww sorry to hear about your blender! I'd be crying if my Magic Bullet broke coz I'm a smoothie fiend! haha

This particular smoothie recipe I changed around just veeeery slightly from a Marta Stewart breakfast smoothie I saw a while back, but the Apple Harvest one (and more recipes to come) is something I came up with, and, generally, I do only post recipes I come up with :)

Thanks for reading!
