I like the second one, and would like to see the first one in a higher resolution though!

I do not want to jump into buying a dlsr yet.
I\'m not that switched on in terms of compact cameras.  I can give you a couple of tips to keep in mind however.1. Mega pixels aren\'t everything.  Just because a camera has a higher number of mega pixels, it doesn\'t mean it will give you better pictures2. Optical zoom is better than digital zoom! Optical zoom is generally preferred over digital, as it is a true zoom.  Digital zoom actually just takes an un-zoomed picture and tries to edit it digitally to give it the appearance of being zoomed in! As such, don\'t choose a camera just because it seems to have a big zoom, which could turn out to be a digital zoom.

As many of you may know, I know /profile/3-joey_matthews/\" data-ipshover=\"\" data-ipshover-target=\"http://poetryartonline.com/profile/3-joey_matthews/?do=hovercard\" data-mentionid=\"3\">@joey_matthews from our shared love of Notts County Football Club.  Here are some of my photos from around the Notts County stadium, from awhile back/monthly_2015_10/dsc_0777_8791668154_o.jpg.93772bdf9d21bccce5e4afdcebb61e58.jpg\" class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\">

From the number of people who seem to be interested in getting into photography, I thought it would be useful to gather a list of resources that could help people get startedBasics of PhotographyComposition (You\'ll see a lot of \"rules\" in this section, however we all know rules are made to be broken.  Use these as a starting place, but don\'t be afraid to break themMiscellaneous
 • Photography Simulator (http://camerasim.com/apps/original-camerasim/web/\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Link) - Once you have had a look at some of the guides above, this will let you play around with camera settings, experimenting with different things, without having to even pick up or buy an expensive SLR.
Feel free to share any videos/guides/tutorials you may find that could help anyone else.

QuoteI still see that even back then you had an eye for a photo.

I'm struggling to pick out a favourite; it's between the 1st, 2nd and 7th. What camera did you take these with, out of interest? Good share again mate
My favourite I think is the first one, because the light looks like it is making my friend glow. This was with my Nikon D90, back in the day. Would have been with the lens I gave you too!

A while back, we are talking around 6 years ago, before I got a job, I used to BMX. As I was into it, and had a camera, I thought why not get pictures of it all.  These are some of my favourites from that time.

Photography / My Trip to Wales (Last year)
September 24, 2015, 12:59:53 PM
About this time last year I went camping at St David, Wales, and these we my favourite photos from my time there: /monthly_2015_09/Wales_1.jpg.4ae0182abaeea5923464b8e7d237b095.jpg\" class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\">It was really a beautiful place, and shows you don\'t have to go abroad for great scenery (however you might need to for the sun!)

A good start, for sure.  I don\'t know if you are aware of the rule of thirds, but it looks like you are following it in these photos, either knowingly or subconsciously

[quote author=FrostyKitten\" data-ipsquote-contenttype=\"forums\" data-ipsquote-contentclass=\"forums_Topic\" data-ipsquote-contentid=\"73\" data-ipsquote-contentcommentid=\"423\">Another question for you -- do you think a macbook vs a laptop is better for photo/video editing and such or do you think it doesn\'t matter what device you use and only the software matters?
I\'m going to caveat any answer I give by saying I\'m not a fan of Apple, so take this into account with any advice I give Link. You can use photoshop for editing photos, however there are better programs that let you organise your photos and speeds up your workflow. Sorry it\'s all a bit of a ramble \"xD\"/emoticons/laugh.png date=1443051556]
